Reflection 05:51
Fear slowly sinks it stride across the floor If that caught your ear then you'll want to hear more. It parades around the inner-states of the mind, And feeds on stories that conceal the light.* Bright early awakening the veil will be lifted. For its in the shadows that fear fools the heart, It hides all our power and rewrites our part, But here in the breakdown the stillness reveals, That each heart is gifted a luminous well. * Bright early awakening the veil will be lifted *And we can't consume everything that were given. And in this awakening the forest reminds us, It's lessons of cyclical healing can teach us, To move like the water caresses the hillside, It changes quite subtly what years would not deny *Bright Early awakening the veil has been lifted *And we won't consume everything that were given. In fact we are left with a hope to see clearly, Just what we've been given and reflect the beauty.

Salty Bodies 04:01
In the old oak forest the light is dancing on the trees, from the water dropping, drip dropping off the leaves. Gently they hurry down the rocks to the creek, bringing with them a story, a song, the light from the trees. *Rain doesn't doubt that it will end up at the sea Doesn't seem to worry about- it's destiny. Carry on, Carry on, Carry on to the streams, till they reach the rushing rivers, rushing free. Making their way through the land hills and seams, they may fall, but trust their memories. *Rain doesn't doubt that it will end up at the sea, Doesn't seem to worry about- it's destiny. Pausing only in rhythm to the mothers heartbeat, wonder just how different is our journey from the seas? Aren't we all just salty bodies? Waiting to come together, in sweet community. *Rain doesn't doubt that it will end up at the sea -Doesn't seem to worry about it's destiny, wonder just how different is our journey from the seas? when the heart is grateful will the water set us free?

Atlanta 05:13
Wandering through Velvet mountains, sweet sap pine in the air, no idea where we're headed- the river spirit led us there. Some other wanderers found their way there, we met on the old dirt road, they said it was town full of ghosts and demons, of lost sad souls searching for gold. *Oh oh Atlanta, Atlanta Idaho, sitting on a winding river- at the end of a dusty road. The mountains whistled out their story, of spirits hidden in the trees, the rocks sang out of transformation, more that we will ever see- I asked the trees- "what do you fear?" They said "How easy we burn" then pointed toward their ruined brothers, nothing left but fragile bone. *Oh oh Atlanta, Atlanta Idaho, sitting on a winding river- at the end of a dusty road. Heard it was a town full of ghosts and demons, of lost sad should searching for gold. Well gold is offered at a value, One I've never understood- Isn't the land worth more than what we dig for- and whats it worth when we're gone? *Oh oh Atlanta, Atlanta Idaho, sitting on a winding river- at the end of a dusty road. Oh oh Atlanta, Atlanta Idaho.

Slow 03:44
*Im sorry heart, I've treated you so bad, I'm thankful that you're beating- Its only time that can teach me that I get to go on dreaming. And dreams don't fade away, their color grows brighter every day, start in the center where you plant your seeds, underneath this emerald city and her cherry wood trees. *I'm sorry heart, I've treated you so bad, I'm thankful that you're beating- Its only time that will teach me that I get to go on dreaming. My heart screamed "STOP- you better slow me down, I could use a break from your worry, don't you see this opportunity? This fine place to start your story?" I met my love in a ferry boat line, dancing to the music that brought me, On a cold summer night, I heard the sound whisper in on the wind to tell her story- *Im sorry heart, I've treated you so bad, I'm thankful that your beating- Its only time that can teach me that I get to go on dreaming. So many faces, so many lands, Im meeting my family, finding my friends, no more to worry I will find some rest, in the hearts of the ones that know me best. *I'm sorry heart, I've treated you so bad, I'm thankful that your beating- Its only time that will teach me that I get to go on dreaming. I see its all gonna change again, I see the phases of the moon and I start to grin, but for now I'm beginning to see, I live for you and you beat for me.

Reservoir 04:15
Dive deep beneath the Ocean, deeper than the riverbed, And there you'll find me waiting a simple story to tell- Of a time of living water, deeper than the wishing well, A time to heal the ocean, a time of dark black oil. Listen can you hear me? though distant we may be, my eyes close and see you, your two deep blue seas- Still as morning break free, troubles with the night water tells our story as it moves from life to life. One way leads to heaven, or maybe to the sea- you can choose your own way, or you can come with me some will offer emeralds, others offer pearls, all I have to offer, are these humble words.

City Water 04:10
I can taste something bitter, in the back of my mouth. Its what I've been chewing on for a while now, Its a word that can sink every ship in this town, Oh that bitter flavor- I taste is doubt. And Doubts only power is to cause sorrow I know, But when its got a hold on me I can't let it go, It consumes my desire to see clearly- you see? This dirty city water keeps raining on me. I wanted to write a love song, a simple one for you, But you were right and called it out said "your muse is blue" she's been deep inside this city, contemplating truth asking for an answer, or any kind of clue. This day began with questions, foggy headed scattered mind, then doubt snuck in & changed my name and took up my time, But in the wake of wasted space I wrote down this line, that no matter where you search for it- the light is in the light. So now if you are listening, deep inside this tune, Is written a reflection one Id love to share with you Even in the darkest city, as stormy as it seems The light that helps me find my way, shines out of you..

Lately I've been wondering where did the sun go? The color in my face is drained and my fingers and toes are cold. But in the dreary twilight I watched the blue moon rise as it faced august sunset and the warm summer sky.*color me with water, and soon is free the soul, the patterns that will weave here don't end where they repeat, oh they don't end where they repeat, no they don't end where they repeat. I feel a certain static in this picture without you, an emptiness much clearer than the colors that you view- And in my eyes and in my heart, quite clear that I am torn apart by a world that is between our dreams, and where we think we ought to be. *So color me with water, and soon is free the soul, the patterns that will weave here don't end where they repeat. no they don't end where they repeat, no they don't end where they repeat. Don't let your soul forget to remember who you are- we can turn the ego in now, and get one step closer, To set this story straight we'll leave the present up to fate, and that will brings back to where we feel a common sense of real *color me with water, and soon is free the soul, the patterns that will weave here don't end where they repeat.

about

Water is an ancient Storyteller,
gracefully moving from life to life,
it becomes an essential part
of every journey on Earth.

These Stories are intended to be humble reflections of the lessons I have learned from Water and the truth that surrounds and fills my life.

The support and encourangement I have found in the eyes of community, has fortified my deepest belief that Love is the fabric on which our story is being written. May the Water color the pages of this chapter.

Love, Love, Love.

Riddles & Rhymes is the debut release from West
Virginian turned Seattleite, Pepper Proud; a work achingly
sweet, lyrically alluring and lush as the Appalachian

a delicate and Fluid dance where Proud’s authentic West
Virginia folk meets the indie roots influences of the rainy
city that Proud now calls home.
